The New York State Association of Management Advocates For School Labor Affairs (MASLA) welcomes you to its web site.  MASLA is the only association in New York State that is dedicated to advocating management’s position on public sector labor relations issues. This includes Teacher Negotiations, Arbitration, Grievances and Contract Negotiations.

We have approximately 300 members from all areas of New York State. Our membership includes Superintendents of Schools, Human Resource Administrators and Attorneys specializing in Education and Labor Relations Law, and Labor Relations Specialists

Members of MASLA are a network of professionals and experts with experience and knowledge in all aspects of negotiations and public sector labor relations.  Our annual summer conference is the premier conference on Public Sector Negotiations, Education Law and issues pertaining to School Management and Labor Relations.

Please review our web site and contact the Executive Director or an officer with any questions you may have.

Dear MASLA Members,

The 2010 summer conference was a great success. We had over 40 attendees for our pre conference and over 80 attendees for our 2 day conference. Those who attended received the latest information on the new Chapter 103 Teacher Evaluation legislation imposed on school districts by the Commissioner and NYSUT. Please reserve October 15 in your calendars for our annual Fall meeting to be held at the OCM BOCES in Syracuse. We will discuss what is happening around the State in negotiations and discuss the latest on Chapter 103. Please go to our Conferences page to review 3 important documents pertaining to Chapter 103. On our Legal Update page we have added the most recent Federal Court decision prohibiting teachers from wearing political buttons in school in anticipation of the upcoming elections in November. Please encourage your colleagues to join MASLA. They can download more information about MASLA and an application form on Membership page.
